A CLEAR VIEW is a post-production workshop for cinematography, production and directing students. This pioneering course, the first of its kind to be organised at a film school, analysed the emerging technical challenges in digital post-production from 2012 until 2014.

Students will learn, using the latest post-production technology, how a film production will be organised in the future and about the challenges this will involve. Working on the basis of case studies and specific practical exercises/scenes to be shot by the participants in the summer, students will address the question of how to organise and structure film projects in this new technological context. The workshop addresses cinematographers, producers and directors alike. The focus lies on analytical, planning, conceptual and creative skills as well as on technical know-how.

The workshop is designed for 24 students. The Partner schools (LFS and FAMU) each send two teams (three students in each team) and two teams from the dffb take part each year. In addition we invite two teams from different European Filmschools.
In 2012 the participating guest schools were The Polish National Film, Television and Theatre School in Lodz (PwSFTViT) and the University of Film and Theatre Arts Budapest (SzFE ). The following year a team from the University School of Cinema and Visual Communication of Catalonia in Barcelona (ESCAC) and a team from the National University of Theatre and Film I.L. Caragiale in Bucharest (UNATC) participated in A Clear View. In the last edition in 2014, we welcomed one team from the Stockholm Academy of Dramatic Arts (SADA) and the second one from the National Academy of Theatre and Film Arts in Sofia (NATFA).
